Idle

Empty vessel makes noise.
Loud noises; in my case.
I have been in Night shifts from past 3 months, this month also, so 4 months by the end of June.
This nasty Delhi heat can only be avoided, if you stay home in dark room with ac.
But thats not honestly by choice but no choice at all.
Coming back to the point, I'll write, read, stay in kitchen with maa.
Why do I want to waste mine or his time. Its not like we talk rubbish but nothing less, usually knick-knacks, blah blah; though I thoroughly enjoy it, but he being a Sheer Classy Man, doesn't enjoy being poked every now and then.
So stop being idle, girl or boy, whomsoever can relate to me, must learn.
Pay attention to quality not quantity.
Happy KanDee ;)

PS: Posting it today because I still believe that one should be their own remedy from a sickness commonly knows as "Boredom"

Roller Coaster Rides

I love travelling, well who doesn't(Surely some morons don't).

Because of this love for travelling I have been to villages, cities, small towns, beaches, forests and dunes, but I still haven't seen snow.

An inflexible believer of Bad-news-first, the worst experience was when I was 16 years old, And visited the Ajmer Sharif Dargah.

My dad had bought a car (Red Matiz- Rampyaari) and it had been few months since I learned driving in my Township.

We lived in a remote township for first 18 years of my life.

So we left early in the morning from Kota( Rajasthan) to Ajmer, and Dad asked me to drive in the middle of the journey.

The road was a single way, with tumbleweed and dry brown lands on both sides. Rough, patchy, stony path, and I started driving with my Learner's license, Second gear, 30 kms/hr, slowly I put my feet down on accelerator, it was smooth and we all had happy faces.

My dad sat next to me, Maa and my younger brother at the back seat. No traffic at all. may be that is why Dad decided to give me some highway experience. I was driving, maa was scared, dad was happy and My brother was busy with some game.
Then came a road that was getting broader and smooth at the intersection. I was a little scared.
Two huge trucks were visible on both sides of intersection, which made it impossible to see if there is a vehicle coming towards the intersection from either sides. The speed of the car was still 30 kms/hr. I drove closer and just before I was reaching the center of intersection, I saw a Bike, a guy riding it with two middle aged women seated behind him at a speed of 50-60 kms/hr.

They came closer and I couldn't honk as they were already too close.

So I decided that I will over speed and by pass them. This had already alerted Dad and he suddenly screamed BREAK BREAK BREAK, what I did instead was pushed the acclerater with full pressure, screeched my Car and Wack! The Bike had collided and almost rammed my door, The impact was so powerful that the windshield had spiderweb cracking. I still didn't stop and the collision was so quick that I wanted to Stop instead had my feet on Accelerator which resulted in farther screeching of Tyre and car. Skidded and stopped the car with a mini heart attack at a distance.

Dad asked me to quickly swap the seats as we could hear people coming towards the car screaming " You killed them".

I was all panting and in complete shock. I sat on the other seat, dad took a 180 degree turn and stopped the car next to injured lady seated at the middle. She was on the road with one of her thigh visible from the saree, It was a 10-15 inch long cut, out of which blood and bones were visible.

That tore me apart.

We took her to a nearby village hospital. Thank fully the guy and other lady was safe and the village we took them to was one of my father's closest friend's native village.

Panchayat and entire village gathered at the hospital.

I sat inside the car in a temperature of 46 degrees without AC and windows closed. Perhaps I feared that the villagers gathered around the car will drag me to hell.

I could hear them saying " She is the city girl who almost killed the poor lady"
And I could hear them abusing and cursing me.

I sat like that for two longest hours of my life, Maa and dad kept coming back to me asking me to come inside, but I could not gather the courage to face her family.

Once she was nursed with minor dressing, our family was taken to Panchayat.
It was a School and they wanted to settle the matter for money rather than a police case.

I still preferred sitting inside the car with windows rolled down this time, The car was thankfully not that damaged but we ended up paying 30,000/- to her family and
20, 000/- was the money we spent on the car to get it fixed.

We finally left the village chaos after 5 hours of drilling sessions, and headed to Ajmer Dargah. I was still in shock and couldn't utter a single word since the accident has happened.

The moment I was under the Chadar while the Emaan read the prayers in Dargah, I was into tears and being a devotee of Khwaja ki Dargah, I prayed for her quick recovery.

I still din't say a word. I noticed the difference in the pictures we clicked when we left home and while we were on Dargah. I looked..like you know..sad.

Those 10 hours was the longest duration of my life without a word.

This was my worst journey ever. Since then I have never hurt a person while driving my car.

There have been many other trips to different part of India but injuring someone because of lack of attention was what I recognized as the worst.
